August 2008
This was the big trip of the summer for the Friends of Breckon Hill and there was enough people wanting to take advantage of the event that a coach was hired. People thoroughly enjoyed themselves so much so that they found there wasn't enough hours in the day to do all that they wanted to do. Children came home with all the usual seaside town gifts and the smell of sea in their hair. It was a wonderful day all round and because this was the trip that people had saved for using Friends of Breckon Hill payment cards I think this enhanced their enjoyment. Knowing that to hire the bus everyone on it had contributed to the price this gave people a sense of pride and achievment. It is all about enpowerment and this trip to Scarborough really did that. It allowed people to see that they are very good at organising an event and having a day like we did at Scarborough was just the 'icing on the cake'. Well Done Everyone! |
